Wizards of Words (WOW) is an annual program brought to all of the students of LCS by the PTO.
2 amazing authors will be visiting the school December 11 & 12, who will engage the kids through a presentation of their work and process.
We encourage you to explore these authors before their visit so your children are familiar with their work. Mr. Mullarkey will also center a lesson plan around our visiting authors through the students’ library classes.
All students will attend the presentations by their grade specific author and are also invited to take part in a random drawing to be included in a small meet-and-greet with their grade’s author!
TO SUBMIT AN ENTRY: Students must provide an illustration about their favorite, scene, character or book cover art from one of the visiting authors. Submissions will be drawn at random and students will be alerted by December 7. Entries are due December 1. Make sure to include your child’s name and teacher on the back of their artwork. All of the artwork submissions will be displayed to welcome our guests.
PRE-ORDER BOOKS: You also have the option to pre-order books for your child that will be personally signed by the author! (This makes for a special & unique holiday gift for any child!) Proceeds from the books will be used to purchase a set of books, from each author, for our library so all LCS students have access to their stories.
Orders are due November 16
We are no longer accepting orders for WOW books. But please enter the contest to meet the authors - deadline is 12/1. Thank you!
