Everyone is required to fill out the below form in order to chair/volunteer for next year (even if you have already been designated by the PTO Board).

  • Share the LCS LOVE! Working with the VP of Membership, this committee will focus on creating a PTO presence at school and PTO events like conferences, BTS night, kindergarten registration, pizza night, & more. This committee is ideal for those looking to take a closer look at the PTO and requires minimal commitment and a flexible schedule.
  • Love taking pictures and want insider access to school events? The photography committee is responsible for capturing all school events both school-wide, grade-level and classroom specific events. This committee is best suited for those who own and use an SLR (or similar type) camera and are comfortable inserting themselves to get the best shots. Photographers are needed for day and evening programs - sign-ups for event coverage happen within the committee in the beginning of the school year. We are also looking for a grade level point person to help coordinate the classroom photographers and ensure that each class is represented. The Photography Co-Chair will work in partnership with a PTO board sponsor and requires a committed person to help oversee the committee and process for the entire school year. CO-CHAIRS: MRS.   • Help organize the collection for the Box Tops Program that provides free items for our school. This committee and chair position are perfect for someone that wants to help on their own time and requires 1-2 hours a month. CO-CHAIRS: ADAM GROBE & LISA KARBINER
  • This important committee keeps the two outdoor LCS Message Billboards (aka sandwich boards) up to date with current school and LCS PTO events. This chair position requires staying up to date with all PTO and LCS events and putting up and taking down notices in a timely manner. Message boards can be managed on your own schedule. CHAIR: EMILY SCHLENKER
  • Work directly with our spirtwear vendor to coordinate free shipping promotions and communicate to the LCS community about the program. This volunteer opportunity is perfect for someone who wants to work on their own, at home and loves apparel! This position requires minimal time but is a year long commitment. CHAIR: STACEY MERKIN
  • Library Volunteers assist the LCS librarian, Mr. Mullarchy, with a variety of tasks that involve, but are not limited to helping at the book fair, library tasks and organization. This team is perfect for those who want to be involved during the day and love books!
  • This committee helps keep the guided reading book closet organized so that teachers can quickly and easily access books for their reading groups. This team is perfect for individuals who love books, and want to be able to make their own schedule to volunteer during the school year.
  • Out of overwhelming community interest for STEM, the PTO is looking for volunteers to establish the STEM committee, which may include a STEM night for students and exploration of other activities. Know how to code? Are you an engineer or developer? Share your awesomeness so kids can see how STEM is fun. All volunteers welcome.
  • Join the newest committee @ LCS by partnering with parents, students and faculty in creating a healthier environment for our students. Using a pre-determined program, designed especially for schools, follow the action plan to help LCS work towards effective green management! Time commitment is on an annual basis and meets regularly throughout the year.

    All LCS PTO-led events are supported by the PTO board and committees are given guidance and partnership as needed. The time commitment varies per event.
  • This committee organizes the annual school-year social kickoff event held on a Friday evening in September. Chairs will coordinate with the school, food services and entertainment as well as their committee on logistics, promotions and day-of event details. This committee is perfect for someone who likes to “party plan” and wants to help kick-off the LCS year to a great start! This event requires planning in August. CHAIR: LAURA KIMMEL
  • Be part of the group that helps give a “thank you” to our faculty after the new school year has settled in. Set up their break-room for the day with fun snacks to let them know we are looking forward to a great school year together!
  • Booooooo! Bring your goblins and fairies out for an early evening of Trick or Treating. This is a 2 hour school wide community event held after school, prior to Halloween. Children will go trick or treating in the decorated car trunks of LCS families. Chairs will work with their committee to organize, promote and run all logistics the day-of. This committee is perfect for a creative type looking to have some fun. Time commitment will be school-start through the event. If you can't help plan, but want to get involved, volunteer to host a trunk! Pick a theme, park your car in the lot and dress it up with decorations, games and prizes/candy to pass out to the students.
  • This committee runs one of the most important in-school events of the year by coordinating famous author and illustrator visits for all the students at LCS. The committee works 1 year ahead to secure the talent, organize book signings and handles all promotions and logistics of the event. A good committee for those who want to make a big impact for all the kids at LCS. WE ARE LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS FOR SCHOOL YEAR 2019-2020. Join now and shadow the current team to be prepared for next year's event!
  • A new major fundraising and all-school event at LCS! Join the committee that will help plan a glow dance for the entire school while raising valuable dollars to enhance our children's learning environment. This large committee is perfect for care givers who want to work on their own time and are interested in fundraising, committee building and character education. Time commitment runs from Nov-Jan.
  • This winter event needs to be marketed and organized for a special night out to support our NJ hockey team. Fun for the entire family! Committee members will work to secure the needed tickets and be in direct contact with the NJ Devils to ensure a successful flow to the evening. Time commitment is minimal over the course of 2 months and may be done from home.
  • A new twist on an old classic! Moving to a more inclusive model, while still honoring the importance of all-girls culture, join the group that will help plan a long-time favorite event at LCS. Female students will invite an adult role model for an evening of camaraderie through dance, games, crafts, dinner and more. Girls will feel empowered by voting on a theme and then the committee will help their vision come to life by decorating the school and creating a memorable and special night. Chairs will work with the VP of Events starting in late Fall to dream and implement a meaningful night for the female students of LCS. Logistics involve, but are not limited to - decorations, volunteer rotations, food & drink, crafts, games, music and more.
  • Why should the girls have all the fun? The boys at LCS were polled and voted overwhelmingly to have their own boys-only special night at LCS. Male students will invite an adult role model to escort them for an evening of games, dancing, crafts, food and friendship. The male students at LCS will vote on a theme and the committee will bring to life their vision by transforming the school through decorations and hosting a memorable night and new tradition! Chairs will work with the VP of Events starting in late Fall to dream and implement a meaningful night for the male students of LCS. Logistics involve, but are not limited to - decorations, volunteer rotations, food & drink, crafts, games, music and more.
  • LCS Let's Bowl (Winter) Bring the entire family out for an all school bowling event! LCS students and their care-givers will have a great time bowling with classmates and enjoying lunch out at Bowlmore Lanes. Chairs will work with the venue, organize RSVP's, lane assignments, give-aways, volunteers and all day-of logistics. Working on this event can be done from home and requires approx 1 month lead time from the day of the event.
  • Help plan an LCS outing to see the local Somerset Patriots Minor League Baseball Team play. This group works to promote and plan a night out for LCS at the ball field. Time commitment is minimal over the course of 2 months and may be done from home.
  • Help students leave their mark at LCS! This small committee meets in the late Spring to add all of the Kindergarten and new LCS students’ handprints to the Hallway Handprint gallery.
  • Join the committee that helps spread some holiday cheer to the LCS faculty! Organize sweets & treats for the teachers and staff during their school day breaks. Time commitment is low and requires coordination 2 weeks before the event.
  • A special appreciation luncheon is given for the teachers and staff of LCS. Co-Chairs plan, organize and facilitate the event. Volunteers are needed to coordinate food, beverages as well as set up and clean up on the day of the event.

    Our amazing teachers host events through-out the year & the LCS PTO helps support these events with materials, marketing and most importantly, volunteers. This is a great low-stress opportunity to get involved & volunteer! These events include Multicultural Week, Golden Guest Day, Paint Night, Stories & Snuggles & Fun Day.

  • A small group that helps the ordering and fulfillment process for pre-filled supply kits for each grade. Time commitment is spring for orders and fall for fulfillment.
  • Work with a third party vendor to distribute, market and organize the KidStuff coupon books in early October. Volunteers help promote the fundraiser and aid with collection and orders. CHAIR: TARA DESIANO
  • We always need extra hands! Check here if you want to be contacted for any event that may need last minute volunteers.

  • Working with the chair, volunteers will assist in setting up and directing a bike workshop for 3rd graders to work on age appropriate skills relating to bike riding. Event is held in the Spring, after school hours on the back field.
  • Join the club that records your child's years at LCS. This committee is for those who love photogrpahy, organization, record keeping and putting together a special memory for the students to keep and enjoy. This is a large but important commitment that seeks a chair that is committed but can work on their own time throughout the year.
  • Join this group to help plan, organize and implement the 5th grade celebration that marks the end of your student's LCS journey. Through fundraisers like bake-sales, this year long committee helps to make the last party of the year a special celebration for the entire grade and their guests.   • Led by Mr Rauchenberger, aid in the organization and implementation of the the fifth grade Charity car wash. Chair needs to be available the day of the event and put in a few hours of work leading up to the big day by organizing supplies and volunteers.
