WIZARDS OF WORDS 2016-2017

Liberty Corner School is pleased to announce that PTO-Funded Wizards of Words is returning in November 2016 this year.  Wizards of Words is a program designed to provide our students with the opportunity to meet and intimately converse with award-winning authors and illustrators.  The children have the chance to hear directly from the authors about what inspires them to write; where they get their ideas for books; how they go about writing a book; and what it takes to get a book published.  And, there’s always time for Q&A!!  It is a much anticipated component of the Liberty Corner School curriculum.

This year we are thrilled to welcome back the very popular New York Times best selling author Dan Gutman.  Dan will be meeting with all Liberty Corner School students on Friday, November 4.  Dan has written over 100 books for children including his Baseball Card Adventures series, the My Weird School series and the Genius Files.  His books have won numerous awards, and most recently, his 1996 novel The Kid Who Ran for President was featured on an episode of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. For more information on Dan and his extensive book list, please visit his website at www.dangutman.com.

The PTO is sponsoring a sale of Dan’s books.  You can provide your child with a lasting memory of this special event by purchasing one or more books and having the book(s) personalized for your child by Dan.  Descriptions of the books being offered are provided in this handout and many of the books are available in the library for your review.

To place an order, please click on the following link to complete the attached order form (please use one order form per student) Gutman Book Order Form and return it to the office along with one check per family made out to Liberty Corner PTO in an envelope marked “PTO – Wizards of Words.”  Please place the one check and all order forms in the same envelope.  Orders must be returned no later than September 30, 2016.  Due to ordering time constraints, late requests cannot be accommodated.

Please use one order form per student.  If your book is to be inscribed to more than one child, please indicate which student is to be presented with the book.  If you have any questions, please contact Elizabeth Michels at elizabethmichels4@gmail.com or Kelli Schmolze at kellischmolze@gmail.com.
