November

Dear Parents,

This month, first grade will be organizing a buddy class activity to focus LCS students and staff on the meaning of Citizenship and why it is important. Students will look for ways to be a good citizen in the classroom, the building, at home, and in the community. The children will also learn about what it means to “Begin with the End in Mind”. To begin with the end in mind means to have a plan, set goals, and do things that have meaning and make a difference.

December 8, 2017 will be our first Connection Day. On this day, each student will have the chance to share with other students and staff something that is special to them (ie: a hobby, skill, tradition…). Our goal is to create opportunities for children to learn more about students within our community and to make connections with others. We believe the stronger connections we make with the people around us, the less likely it is to treat others with a lack of respect. As a community, we are all responsible for each other.

Below is a link that further explains our Connection Day 2017.

Please take time to speak with your children about what they are learning at LCS. During the month of December our focus will be on the pillar Honesty/Trustworthiness and what “Put First Things First” means.

Our goal at LCS for 2017-2018 is to make LCS a community where everyone is respected and valued and where everyone is responsible for their actions.

Thank you,

James Oliver
